Farewell to Helen Houston

The club would like to say a fond farewell to Helen Houston who has just moved from good old Bangor back to Cheshire in England. Helen joined our club on Tuesday 12 June 2001 and was our first clergy member.
With vigorous determination in her training Helen succeeded in attaining a good standard of green belt.
Helen was particularly good in the technical side of karate and clearly demonstrated this on BBC television on October 2002, when she out sparred her training partner and European men’s team member, who will remain nameless. She also was an invaluable help
when it came to running the women’s self defence classes.
Helen, you were joy to train with. Best wishes for you and your family from all at Carnalea.

The club would also like to wish James Murdock best wishes with his studies in Manchester University.

Congratulations to Lorraine Kirk who has just purchased her first house in Glasgow. Lorraine, now employed on the mainland, is continuing to train with a local Shotokan club. We look forward to seeing her occasionally on her visits home.
