| There were smiles all round from juniors at Carnalea Karate club after a recent grading. After a energetic course that included some basic and combination techniques, followed by some last minute practice under the guidance of Sensei Kevin Lewis, the juniors were then thoroughly tested in the wado-ryu syllabus by Chief Instructor, David Brashaw.
Results were as follows:
Red Belts - Dean Miller, Jordan Lewis, Chris Sharpe, Matthew McEvoy, Eva Morrison, Riley Westwood Dominique Orr, and Hanna McEvoy.
Yellow Tips- Jamie Stewart and David Edge
Yellow belts - Niamh Pang, Ryan Jackson, Jack Pang, Gareth Carlile, Nathan Lockhart and Alex Martin.
David added "Everyone performed very well. I was particularly impressed by Alex Martin who went straight from beginner, to a first class grade at yellow belt."
There will be another grading arranged shortly for higher grades when we will expect students to perform much more challenging techniques. We will also be having our family open day when friends can come along and see the children perform.
