Tag-Team Day is a Big Hit

On Saturday 15 March Carnalea Karate Kids played tag. Not the chasing type; but tag- team, a bit like they do in wrestling except faster with no ring ropes.

Teams were made up of three competitors of different ages and each had its own superstar coach. Before that action started the teams picked a team name and the draw was made.

In the first round there were many close fights, the closest one being between the Kittyhawks and the Jelly Tots. The Kittyhawks eventually won by a mere two points. Other teams that went out in the first round were the Bad Boys and the Champions. In the semi-final the A-Team put out the Karate Kids II and Kev's Kilars squeaked passed the Kittyhawks. This set up a very exciting final, which went down to the last few seconds before the A-Team narrowly lost out.

Guest of honour Deputy Mayor of North Down, Wesley Irvine made medal presentations and commented “It was a very exciting event and congratulations to all the children for their spirited performances.”
