  • April 1993 All Ireland Wado Cup - Gold medallist.
  • 1993 National UKKW Championship, Farnborough – Silver medallist.
  • September 1993 WIKF World Karate Championships, Athens – Seventh in final.
  • 30 April 1994 Opened own Karate Club. It specialises in teaching children. Carnalea, Bangor.
  • 1994 Elected Chairperson of NI UKKW Federation.
  • November 1994 European WIKF Championships, Paris – Fifth overall.
  • August 1997 Awarded 3rd Degree Black Belt by the world’s leading master in Wado Ryu – Professor T Suzuki.
  • October 1998 WIKF European Karate Championships – Bronze medallist.

  • 7 October 2001 Coached - Lorraine Kirk to WIKF World Ladies Kata Champion.
  • 4 November 2001 All Ireland WIKF Championships – Gold medallistAs Coach, my students won two gold, two silver & three bronze.

  • 21 June 2003 Became first person from Great Britain and Ireland to win the WKC World Karate Championships. (Senior Wado-Ryu kata)
  • December 2003 Finalist in Coaching NI – Coach of the Year.
  • 14 January 2004 Elected Ulster Karate Council National Kata coach.
  • 23 February 2004 Completed Karate Award in Coaching Studies (ACS) through Coaching NI.
  • October 2005 In Novi Sad, Serbia, at the World Karate Championships David successfully defended his WKC title. He also gained gold in the Veteran's category.
